Photo installation of the “Hidden Roots” photo is made up of two related visual contexts.
- First Layer
- It consists of 40 digital photos in 21 x 16 dimensions, from the cross-section of the ancient trees of Vali Asr Street that have been cut. It had been made an effort to keep a portrait of trees with different texture, shape and color which are like humans, similar to the image of old portraits with 16×21 dimensions that can be found on the windowsills of many old Iranian houses.
- Second Layer
- 40 pictures of the sky above the cross-section of the tree that are taken as a last look. The photos were taken with a Polaroid camera for the following reasons:

The writings under the Polaroid photo are the handwritings of the people who were present at that location during photographing each tree and it has been talked with them about their historical memory of the events and their time in that place. A kind of field and comparative study of memories by extracting the timeline and location of those memories. The final presentation of the work is in a photo installation form in 5 rows of 8 in dimensions of 120×160.
Statement:
Tall and stout trees, each with an independent identity and as a whole together “giving identity to one street”, which have repeated youth in themselves every year. Silent observers with hidden roots in the soil that have recorded all the surrounding events in the layers of their memory. To me, the plane trees of Vali-Asr street, those which have stood there since the early years and watched all the things that happened on the cobblestones and streets, buildings and the
sky above them are like the people of this land, perhaps the most original contemporary history of this street comes from the point of view of its plane trees. Ended world, Lasting world And the memories that are the outcome of the intersection of time and place.
